Fifth in this guide, the Burg-Wächter 273S is a keyed D-lock in grey and black, listed as Large. It carries a Sold Secure Gold claim, a Burg-Wächter security rating of 8½, and a 4.2 out of 5 score from 2,108 ratings at £15.95.

The number that unsettles the ranking is the price. This lock costs £15.95, while the Burg-Wächter 200D is listed at £13.99 and claims Sold Secure Diamond for pedal cycles — a grade above Gold, sitting on the lock that costs £1.96 less. The 273S has its own listing oddities: the Best Sellers Rank places this D-lock at 4 in Long Shackle Padlocks, and a keyed lock is given a Controller Type of 'Hand Control' and a Control Method of 'Touch'. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this product, not from any test of ours.

4.2 out of 5 from 2,108 ratings. In the rating breakdown, 64 of the 100 entries shown are five-star.

**Why is a Gold-rated lock ranked below a cheaper Diamond-rated one?**

The order does not follow the grades. The 273S is listed at £15.95 with Gold, while the £13.99 Burg-Wächter 200D claims Sold Secure Diamond for pedal cycles.

**Is the 273S a padlock or a bike lock?**
