The BPYOT is a caged hanging feeder for £17.99 with 4.0 stars from 48 ratings: a 19cm cage in metal, 454g, listed at an 800ml capacity and ranked 6th in Amazon's bird feeder category.

It takes ninth because the rank and the sample contradict each other. A 6th place is high, but 48 ratings is the thinnest evidence in this ranking and 9 per cent of them are one-star, so the rank is the only thing here that looks strong.

## Questions people ask

**How does the cage work?**

It encloses the food so squirrels cannot reach through, and the spill-proof tray stops pigeons feeding off the ground beneath.

**Why is it ninth if it ranks 6th?**

Because it has 48 ratings against 1,689 on the feeder at the top. Category rank reflects recent sales, not how many owners have rated it.

**What does 800ml mean?**

It is the volume of the food chamber, quoted in millilitres where the feeder above it quotes 1 kg.

**Is it worth £17.99?**

It is the smallest feeder here at the highest price for its size; the cage design is what you are paying for.

**Will it keep all squirrels out?**

No cage does, but a metal cage with a tray underneath removes most of the routes in.

**How many ratings does it have?**

48 at the time of collection, averaging 4 stars, with 54 per cent five-star and 9 per cent one-star.
