At number six in this guide is the DEWALT 18V XR 30cm Brushless Compact Chainsaw, model DCMCS565N-XJ. It is a 30cm-bar battery chainsaw with a brushless motor, a 4.6 kg body, tooled chain tensioning and a wrench stored on the saw itself. The listing price is £179.45 and the rating shown is 4.2 out of 5 from 52 ratings.

The first thing to check is what that £179.45 actually buys. The included components field lists one item — '1 x DEWALT 30cm chainsaw' — and nothing else, so there is no battery and no charger at this price. That matters for the headline runtime figure of up to 100 cuts per charge, because the pack that delivers those cuts is bought separately. Two other fields on the listing do not match the saw: the power source is given as 'AC Power' on an 18V XR tool, and chain speed is given as 'Variable Speed' instead of a number. Every detail on this page comes from the Amazon listing rather than from any testing of our own.

## Questions people ask

**Does the DEWALT DCMCS565N-XJ come with a battery?**

No. The included components field lists a single item, '1 x DEWALT 30cm chainsaw', so the £179.45 price is for the tool only.

**How thick a branch will it cut?**

The listing states the 30cm bar and chain are ideal for cutting wood with a diameter of up to 25cm.

**How many cuts do I get from one charge?**

DEWALT states up to 100 cuts per charge, with the note that performance may vary based on material and conditions. A battery is not included in this price.

**Is this chainsaw mains powered?**

The specification table lists the power source as 'AC Power', which sits awkwardly beside the 18V XR name and the 18V brushless motor described in the bullets. The listing gives both.

**How is the chain tensioned?**

The bullets describe tooled chain tensioning with a bar clamping mechanism, plus an on-board wrench stored on the tool for adjustments in the field.

**What is the warranty?**

The listing states three years manufacturer warranty.
