The Supstable S3 Apex is a 12-inch brushless cordless chainsaw at £89.99, sitting 5th in this guide. In the box you get the saw, two 4,000mAh batteries, a fast charger, a bottle of oil and a pair of protective gloves. Amazon shows 4.5 stars from 4,388 ratings and a best sellers rank of 1 in Chain Saws and 210 in Garden.

The number worth checking first is the voltage. Supstable advertises this as a 21V saw and the included packs are listed as "21V 4000mAh" — the same 18V-class cells that the Ryobi and Einhell tools in this guide run on, sold under a different badge. The specification table then does something odd: it has a field headed "Horsepower", and what sits inside it is "1000 Watts". Every figure on this page is copied from the Amazon listing; none of it comes from a saw we tested ourselves.

## Questions people ask

**Does the Supstable S3 Apex come with batteries and a charger?**

Yes. The Included Components field lists two 21V 4,000mAh rechargeable batteries and a fast charger, along with a bottle of oil, a pair of protective gloves and the 12-inch chainsaw itself.

**What does "21V" mean on the Supstable batteries?**

The Supstable S3 Apex listing calls its packs 21V 4,000mAh. Tools in this class are commonly sold as 18V, and the listing gives no explanation of how the 21V figure is measured.

**The spec table says "Horsepower: 1000 Watts" — is that a horsepower rating?**

No. The field is labelled Horsepower but the value stored in it is a wattage, 1000 Watts. The listing does not give a horsepower figure anywhere else.

**How many cuts will I get per charge?**

Supstable claims up to 120 cuts per charge using the two supplied 4,000mAh batteries. The listing does not state what size of cut that figure is based on.

**Does the chain need oiling or tools to tension it?**

The listing says the S3 Apex oils the chain automatically from a transparent 150ml tank, and that chain tension is adjusted by hand with a twist, with no tools required.

**How heavy is the Supstable S3 Apex?**

The listing gives 2.4 kg, with an anti-slip handle and reduced vibration, and says it suits women, seniors and people new to electric tools.
