## Is the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green worth buying?

Yes, the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green is worth buying if litres are what you are short of: £29.49 buys roughly 920 litres of storage with a waterproof cover, which works out at about 3p a litre, the cheapest on this page by a distance. It is the right rack for someone with two metres of spare wall and a log burner that runs all winter, and the wrong one if the store has to look good from the kitchen window.

The caveat is the score rather than the steel. 1,250 owners average 3.6, the lowest of any store in the top five here, so buyers are happier with the capacity than with the finish and the way the cover sits. The frame is metal, powder coated and rated to 200 kg, which means your money has gone on volume, not on joinery.

## How many litres does the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green hold?

Multiply the box: 200 cm by 115 cm by 40 cm comes to 920,000 cubic centimetres, which is 920 litres. Divide the £29.49 by those 920 litres and you land on 3p a litre, less than a third of the 11.4p the £89.99 VIVOHOME asks for its 788 litres.

In practice you will not stack it solid, because logs are round and leave gaps. The 200 kg frame rating is the number that stops you before the volume does, so load it to about two-thirds and let air move between the logs rather than cramming the top row tight against the cover.

## What comes in the box with the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green?

The box holds the metal rack and a waterproof cover, and that is the whole kit. It weighs 5.1 kg before a single log goes in, so one person can carry it down the side of the house and stand it where it is going.

Assembly takes about ten minutes and the finished rack is freestanding, so there is nothing to bolt to a wall. The base sits raised off the ground to keep the bottom row clear of standing water, and the powder coating is the part that deals with the weather. You supply your own tongs and poker, because no tools come with it.

## Where does the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green fall short?

The 200 kg rating is the first limit, and it is easy to forget. A rack this size invites you to fill it to the roof, and once the wood is properly seasoned the weight, not the space, is what the frame notices. Stop the stack short of the top rather than testing it.

It is also fixed at 200 x 115 x 40 cm, so it will not slot into a narrower gap and it cannot be shortened to suit a different wall. Add the 3.6 average from 1,250 owners and the picture is a rack that people keep because it holds a lot, not because the cover and the finish delighted them.

## How does the VOUNOT Firewood Log Rack Green compare with the alternatives?

Against the NALONE 4FT Firewood Rack at £39.99, the VOUNOT holds 920 litres to roughly 500 and costs £10.50 less, but the NALONE throws in a carry bag and hooks for the fireplace tools, and its 919 owners rate it 4.0 against 3.6. Choose the VOUNOT for the bigger stack, and the NALONE if you want the tools hanging on the frame.

Against the Woodside Treated Wooden Log Store at £79.99, capacity is almost level: 913 litres against 920, for £50.50 more. What those pounds buy is a felt roof, a raised slatted floor and stained timber instead of a green steel frame under a fabric cover, and the Woodside also scores 4.0. Buy the VOUNOT when the budget rules, the Woodside when the store is on show.
