The SONGMICS executive chair is the value pick of the PU-leather options: £85.99, 4.3 stars from 3,872 ratings, a two-year manufacturer warranty, an adjustable backrest and a headrest. It is 8th in Amazon's desk chair category.

It takes third because of two figures in its own table: the base is described as supplier-tested to 1,136kg of static pressure, and the 150kg capacity is described as self-declared — the most honest thing any listing on this page says about load, and the reason it beats the chairs that publish nothing.

## Questions people ask

**What does self-declared mean?**

The listing states the 150kg capacity and adds in brackets that it is self-declared: no external body certified it. That is more transparent than chairs that give no figure at all.

**How strong is the base?**

The listing says the five-star base passed a supplier-tested static pressure test of 1,136kg for one minute without breaking.

**Is it breathable?**

No: it is PU leather over foam, so it warms up. The mesh chairs above it are the ones for long sessions.

**What warranty comes with it?**

Two years from the manufacturer, stated in the specification.

**Is it good for long hours?**

4.3 stars from 3,872 ratings says most buyers are happy, but the material is the compromise at this price.

**How many ratings does it have?**

3872 at the time of collection, averaging 4.3 stars, with 66 per cent five-star and 7 per cent one-star.
