The Somdot White Bedside Table is third in this guide. It is a nightstand with two fabric drawers, a powder-coated steel frame and a wood top, listed at £24.99 with 4.5 stars from 4,030 ratings. The listing gives the overall size as 30D x 42W x 50H centimetres, each drawer as 27.5D x 36.5W x 21H centimetres, and the whole unit as 3.8 kg. It is described as suitable for beds with a height between 40 and 60 cm.

The reason this entry earns its place is the tabletop thickness field: 1.5 centimetres. That is 15 mm written correctly in centimetres, and it is the figure that exposes the unit error elsewhere in the ranking, where the same field reads 41 cm, 53 cm and 30 cm — 410 mm, 530 mm and 300 mm of solid wood, which is not what anyone is selling. Two things in the Somdot listing are worth checking against the photos. Two drawers at 21 cm tall each account for 42 cm of the 50 cm overall height, leaving 8 cm for the top, frame and feet. And the item dimensions field appears twice, once as 42W and once as 41.9W centimetres, while the maximum weight recommendation is the only figure given in pounds (94.8 lb, roughly 43 kg) rather than metric. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from any test we carried out.
