The Jacgood diesel air heater kit sits at number four in our guide to diesel heaters, and it is the cheapest item on that list at £75.99. It is a 12V kit: the listing describes a combustion chamber, a base and a heat-dissipating scale all made from sand-blasted aluminium and integrally formed, and the box includes a mounting kit with screws, instructions and a muffler. It carries 4.2 out of 5 from 330 ratings and sits 5th in Amazon's Car Ignition & Heating Systems category.

Its number problem is in the name itself. The same kit is sold as "5KW-8KW" — both figures on one listing, one price, one box, one weight of 8.37 kg in packaging measuring 51 x 48.2 x 20.4 cm. The point our guide makes about diesel heaters is that the kW figure is the least reliable number on the page, and this listing is the plainest version of it: there is no 5kW heater here and no 8kW heater, just one heater described with a range. The spec table even carries a "Guaranteed software updates until" row, listed as unknown, on a product that has no software. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from any testing we carried out.
