This is the seventh entry in our guide to divan beds: the Bed Centre black plush velvet divan in the 4ft6 double size, listed at £160 with a 4.2 rating from 149 reviews. It sits in the middle of the price band we looked at, and what the money buys is a base and a matching headboard. No mattress is named anywhere in the listing.

The listing is not tidy about its own numbers. One bullet promises "14" High Base Units (excluding feet)", while the specification table gives the item height as 30 centimetres, which is nearer 12in. The same bullet set mentions that the 3ft single base arrives as one piece, which says nothing about the 4ft6 double sold here. Under Included Components the listing says Headboard, and under Number of Items it says 1 — the count and the components disagree about whether this is one item or two. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon product page, not from a bed we have assembled, slept on or measured ourselves.

## Questions people ask

**Does the Bed Centre divan come with a mattress?**

No mattress appears anywhere in the listing. The bullets, the specification table and the Included Components row mention the base, the plush velvet fabric and a matching headboard, so the mattress is bought separately.

**What exactly is included with the Bed Centre black plush divan?**

The title describes it as a divan base plus matching headboard, and Included Components in the specification reads Headboard. Number of Items reads 1, so the listing is not consistent about how many pieces arrive.

**How tall is the base?**

One bullet says "14\" High Base Units (excluding feet)". The Item Dimensions row in the specification table gives the height as 30 centimetres, which is about 12in, so the two figures do not agree.

**Which size is this version of the Bed Centre divan?**

It is the 4FT6 (DOUBLE). The listing also lists compatible mattress sizes of 3ft, 4ft, 4ft6, 5ft and 6ft, and notes that the 3ft single base comes as one piece.

**What is the Bed Centre divan made from?**

The bullets describe High Quality Plush Velvet Fabric over Sturdy Base Units Made With High Quality Timber Wood. Material Type is given as Fabric, Wood, the finish as plush velvet, and care as wiping with a dry cloth.

**How is it rated by buyers?**

4.2 out of 5 from 149 reviews. The breakdown runs 70 five-star, 11 four-star, 6 three-star, 2 two-star and 11 one-star ratings.
