The Ripon with Footboard King (5ft) is the most expensive bed in this guide at £349.00, and it sits at number eight. It is also the listing that comes closest to naming everything in the box: the title promises a king divan with a mattress, a matching 24-inch headboard and 0 drawers, and the bullets add a 9-inch hand-tufted mattress on a Bonnell 13.5g coil spring unit, handcrafted in Yorkshire. It carries 4.9 out of 5 from 23 ratings.

The fields underneath the description do not all agree with that. Included Components reads "Bed & Mattress" — no headboard — and Number of Items reads 1, which is a single entry for a bed, a headboard and a mattress together. The price band across this guide runs from £94 to £349, and that gap tracks how much arrives rather than better timber: base only at the bottom, base plus headboard in the middle, and this one at the top claiming all three. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing as it stands, not from any testing we have carried out.
