The Ledlenser HF4R Signature costs £49.95 and is rated 4.3 stars from 141 ratings, with 600lm, a 140 metre beam and a 72 gram body.\n\nIt takes second because it documents its output, its weight and its charging time in the same place, and because 600lm with a beam distance is a combination the cheap listings never publish together.

## Questions people ask

**Why is 600lm not the brightest?**

Because the few listings claiming 2000 lumens are claiming four times the battery this one carries.

**How long does it run?**

The runtime depends on the mode; at full output the tiny cell means minutes, not hours.

**How does it charge?**

By magnetic USB-C, fully in about three hours.

**Is it waterproof?**

The title lists a high IP rating; check the specification for the exact level.

**Why is it second?**

Because it is the best-documented torch here, but four times the price of the first with a far smaller sample.

**How many ratings does it have?**

141 at the time of collection, averaging 4.3 stars, with 66 per cent five-star and 5 per cent one-star.
