The BEDLORE is the heaviest of the fibre toppers here at 4.01kg, and the one with the deepest pockets: it is designed for mattresses up to 35cm thick, which matters if yours is one of the pillow-top models that most toppers struggle to hold.

The cover is 40 per cent viscose derived from bamboo and 60 per cent polyester, box-stitched to stop the filling drifting, and it is machine washable in a normal drum. It is also the most divisive topper in this ranking: 68 per cent five stars, but 8 per cent one star, the highest proportion of complaints collected here — so the ratings deserve reading rather than trusting.
