The Niagara has the largest sample of ratings in this entire ranking: 28,897 of them, averaging 4.3 stars. No other topper here comes close to that evidence base, and it costs £28.99 with a bamboo viscose surface and a deep fitted skirt.

It is seventh because of the weight column. At 2.99kg it carries the least filling of any 10cm-class topper here, less than the MightySoft and Jennifer at the same money. It is also the listing whose language travels worst: the bullets call it a queen topper three times, which is not a UK mattress size, describe mattress depth in inches, and ask buyers to leave it for three days to plump up. Read the table, not the badges.
