The WORX WX696.9 is a cordless oscillating multi-tool, and it takes fifth place in this guide. It is the cheapest way into the WORX PowerShare battery system of the models here, with one catch stated plainly on the listing: £65.99 buys the tool body only, and the battery and charger are sold separately. The item highlight says so, and the box contents are five blades, a sanding pad and 30 sheets of sanding paper.

The finding on this one is a voltage that changes depending on which line of the page you read. The title says 20V. The product type field on the same listing reads "WORX 18V(20V Max) Sonicrafter Cordless Oscillating Multi-tool". That is one tool described with two different numbers in the same advert, and 20V is the marketing figure rather than the nominal pack voltage. The speed claims, by contrast, do line up: the bullet promises a switch between 5,000 and 18,000/min, and the spec fields give a minimum speed of 5,000 RPM and a maximum rotational speed of 18,000 RPM - though an oscillating tool swings its blade rather than rotating it, so RPM is the listing's wording, not ours. Weight is given as 1.2 kg, while a separate unit count field reads 1000.0 gram. The rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 393 ratings, and the star breakdown shown on the page adds up to 100 ratings (81 of them five stars) against that headline figure of 393. It ranks 11th in Amazon's Oscillating Tools category. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this tool and not from testing of our own.
