The Brother L14S is a £99 basic sewing machine that comes ninth in this guide. Its listing carries two large claims — "Voted Best Beginner Sewing Machine" and "Amazon's Best Selling Sewing Machine" — and the same listing also publishes a Best Sellers Rank of 68,892 in Home & Kitchen and 26th place in Basic Sewing Machines. Both statements sit on the same page, and they do not point the same way.

The rest of the listing is modest and specific: 4.6 out of 5 from 618 ratings, described as an updated version of the Brother L14, new for 2018, with a full 3 year warranty, white, metal, corded electric, 5.74 kg.
