The BonVache shoe cabinet, model J9P003, is a narrow white hallway unit measuring 80 cm wide, 23.6 cm deep and 120.2 cm tall. It takes the number 7 slot in our guide to shoe storage cabinets, costs £113.89 and carries a 4.5-out-of-5 rating from 57 ratings. Behind its three louvred fronts it promises room for "at least 18 pairs of shoes".

That capacity figure is where this listing gets interesting. Elsewhere in this guide, a cabinet with two pull-down compartments claims 24 to 30 pairs. This one has three compartments and claims 18 — roughly six pairs per compartment instead of twelve to fifteen. The listing also disagrees with itself over its own ratings: the 4.5 stars come from 57 ratings, yet the star breakdown printed beside them adds up to 100 (73 five-star, 13 four-star, 10 three-star, 2 two-star, 2 one-star). The three compartments are named three different ways too — pull-down drawers in the bullet points, flip louvered doors in the product name, and shelves in the specification table. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing as it stands, not from any testing we carried out.
