The Hisense WD3S8043BB3 is the machine at the top of our best washer dryers ranking. It is a black, wi-fi connected washer dryer with a 1400 rpm spin, listed at £369 and rated 4.4 out of 5 from 165 Amazon ratings. The headline capacity is 8 kg, and that is the wash figure — the dry load is 5 kg, so the two loads are not the same size.

The finding on this fiche is in the title. It says 'A-D Rated' and stops there: two letters, with no indication of which one belongs to a wash-only cycle and which to a wash-and-dry cycle. The same brand spells it out on its 9 kg/6 kg model, advertised as 'D Rated [Wash&Dry], A Rated [Wash Only]'. Here, the shopper has to work it out. Everything below is taken from the Amazon listing and the reviews left on it, not from any testing we have carried out.

## Questions people ask

**What do the two capacities mean on the Hisense WD3S8043BB3?**

The listing gives 8 kg for a wash load and 5 kg for a dry load, so the two loads are not the same size.

**What does 'A-D Rated' mean on this Hisense?**

The title only prints 'A-D Rated'. It does not say which letter applies to a wash-only cycle and which applies to a wash-and-dry cycle.

**Does the drying cycle finish the job?**

One buyer ran a synthetic wash-and-dry cycle on the sunshine dryness setting and reports the clothes came out dry enough to fold and put away. The listing gives 2 drying cycles.

**Is the Hisense WD3S8043BB3 quiet?**

The listing credits the inverter motor with quiet running for open-plan living, and two buyers describe the machine as very quiet, one of them specifically on the spin.

**Can it be controlled from a phone?**

Yes. The listing describes it as wi-fi connected with app, knob and touch controls, and one buyer says the app tells you when the washing is done.

**How big is the Hisense WD3S8043BB3?**

84.5 cm high, 59.5 cm wide and 51 cm deep, weighing 58 kg, with adjustable levelling legs. The spec sheet also lists 'Access Location: Top Load', which sits oddly next to those freestanding dimensions.
