The Samsung Series 5 WD80TA046BX/EU is a freestanding washer dryer with an 8 kg wash capacity and a 5 kg drying capacity, a 1400 rpm spin, a quoted 54 dB noise figure, an EU Acoustic Class of A and a graphite finish, listed at £499. It comes second in this guide, with 4.4 out of 5 from 186 Amazon customer ratings.

The finding on this listing is the energy label. Samsung rates this machine E for combined wash and dry, while every other machine in this guide that states a combined drying rating states D. The consumption figure is just as hard to line up with the rest: this ad gives 208 Kilowatt Hours Per Year, where the AEG, Hoover and Haier ads quote 42, 43 and 44 in the same category. Two smaller numbers in the spec table also sit oddly with the marketing copy — the specs list 2 washing cycles and 1 drying cycle, while the bullets advertise both a 15 minute Quick Wash and a 59Min Wash + Dry, and the spec table gives the colour as Black against Graphite in the model name. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing for this model, not from any testing we carried out.
