The NRG 5KW Defra stove costs £255.99 and is rated 4.5 stars from 65 ratings, with a stated output of 5 kilowatts and a claimed coverage of 80 square metres.

It takes second because it states both numbers on one page and they cannot both be right: five kilowatts heats about 26 square metres by the trade rule, not eighty, and its model number is a UUID.

## Questions people ask

Five.

**Will it heat 80 square metres?**

Not by the trade rule: 5kW is about 26 square metres.

**What is the model number?**

A UUID, which is a database code rather than a model.

**Is it Defra approved?**

The listing says so, in the marketing sense of the phrase.

Because one of the two numbers on its page is wrong by a factor of three.

**How many ratings does it have?**

65 at the time of collection, averaging 4.5 stars, with 78 per cent five-star and 6 per cent one-star.
