The Fridgemaster MC55240ES is the number nine entry in this guide: a 55cm freestanding fridge freezer in silver, listed at £279.00 with a 252-litre total capacity. Its 72 Amazon ratings average 4.2 out of 5. The title calls it a 50/50 split, and that is where its own numbers stop agreeing with each other — the specification table gives the freezer 158 litres of the 252, leaving 94 litres for the fridge. That works out at roughly 63% freezer to 37% fridge, not the even halves the title promises; a genuine 50/50 would put both compartments nearer 126 litres.

The same listing says 252 litres holds 14 bags of food shopping, the same figure one of the guide's larger 256-litre Frost Free machines quotes. The spec table also files this two-door, freezer-on-bottom appliance as "Side By Side" and answers "Is Electric" with "No". Every figure on this page is taken from the Amazon listing rather than from any test we have run.
