The Maestri House is the most-reviewed handheld frother in this ranking: 8,315 ratings at 4.3 stars, with a 1,200mAh battery charged over USB-C, a stated 15-second froth time and a whisk for £12.99.

It takes fifth because the handhelds are a different product from the jugs — no heating, no jug and no 500W — with one specification to treat with suspicion: it claims 10,000 RPM and a 9-gram item weight, neither of which describes a battery-powered wand.

## Questions people ask

**Is this the same as the jug frothers?**

No. A handheld wand aerates cold milk; it does not heat anything. If you want hot froth, you need one of the machines above.

**What does 10,000 RPM mean?**

It is the rotation speed of the whisk. Handhelds quote speed and jugs quote watts, so the two figures cannot be compared directly.

**Why does the weight say 9 grams?**

It is a data error: a rechargeable wand with a 1,200mAh battery weighs around 80g to 130g, like its rivals here.

**How long does a charge last?**

Buyers describe charging as easy and battery life as mediocre for the price — worth reading the reviews before buying.

**Is it good for matcha?**

Yes, and the reviews include matcha drinkers alongside coffee users.

**How many ratings does it have?**

8315 at the time of collection, averaging 4.3 stars, with 70 per cent five-star and 8 per cent one-star.
