The NICREW Magi Mini is the small-tank filter here: £13.99 with 2,267 ratings at 4.3 stars, a flow of 150 litres an hour for a 20-litre tank, and a full kit including a spare impeller.

It takes fourth because it is the best value at the small end and publishes its flow and its tank size, though at 150 L/H a tank much above 30 litres puts the turnover below the recommended range.
