The ALL FOR PAWS Automatic Dog Ball Launcher, Mini Version, is the number two pick in this guide at £47.59, rated 4.2 out of 5 from 158 ratings. It is the one launcher here that publishes no distance at all: rather than a figure in metres or feet, the listing offers three modes — near, middle and far — and leaves the buyer to work out what either end of that range means. Every other model in the guide names a top distance, from 9 m to 14 m, so this is the entry whose headline number cannot be compared with any of them.

What the listing does state is narrow ball compatibility: only All For Paws tennis balls, with three supplied, and other brands named as not compatible. It runs on six C batteries (not included) or the supplied AC adapter, and it is listed as Mini Size at 26 x 21 x 27 cm and 1.99 kg. The rating is respectable but split — 68 five-star ratings against 12 one-star. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing; we have not tested the launcher ourselves.
