Sanicat Clumping is the cheapest litter here by weight: 10 litres and 8.4kg for £7.00, which is £0.83 a kilo, with 4.4 stars from 10,537 ratings.

It takes fourth because it is the best value on the page and no further: the best seller above it costs 90 per cent more per kilo and has three times the ratings, so this is the litter to choose if the lifetime cost matters more than the brand.

## Questions people ask

**How much is it per kilo?**

£0.83: £7.00 for a bag that weighs 8.4kg. The cheapest here, and 90 per cent less than the best seller.

**Is it clumping?**

Yes, with large granules that form compact clumps.

**What does active oxygen do?**

It is the odour-control mechanism in the litter rather than a perfume, and reviewers report no smell.

**How long does a bag last?**

That depends on the cat and the number of trays; because it is clumping you remove clumps and top up rather than replacing everything.

**Why not first?**

Because the best seller has three times the ratings, and value is not the only thing that matters in a litter a cat has to accept.

**How many ratings does it have?**

10537 at the time of collection, averaging 4.4 stars, with 69 per cent five-star and 5 per cent one-star.
