The YAFALA Pet Cool Mat is seventh in this guide, and it is a different animal from the gel mats above it. The listing describes an ice-silk polyester surface that absorbs pet body heat and releases it into the air with no power source, over a polyester fibre fill, with a non-slip mesh base and a stated weight of 240 g at 70 x 55 x 1 cm (spec field), sold in blue as size M for £15.99.

Two things stand out on this sheet. The first is what it does not claim: there is no temperature drop anywhere in the copy, which separates it from the three gel mats in this guide that each quote a 7-9 degree reduction without saying how it was measured. The second is the star breakdown, whose five bars add to 100 against the 103 ratings named in the same listing. At £15.99 it also undercuts the cheapest of those gel mats (£17.99) by £2, though the build is plainly different — 240 g of fabric over 70 x 55 cm, against roughly 2.2 kg of gel over 90 x 50 cm. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from any test we ran.

## Questions people ask

**Does the YAFALA Pet Cool Mat say how many degrees it cools by?**

No. The listing describes passive cooling only — the ice-silk polyester surface absorbs pet body heat and dissipates it into the air with no power source — and quotes no temperature figure at all, unlike the gel mats in this guide that claim a 7-9 degree drop.

**Is there gel inside it?**

No. The listing says it is made of non-toxic materials with no gel chemicals, and the fill material is listed as polyester fibre.

**What size is it and what does it weigh?**

The spec field lists 70 x 55 x 1 cm and the title sells it as size M in blue. Item weight is listed as 240 g.

**Can it be machine washed?**

Yes. The YAFALA listing states the cover and filling are machine-washable, on heavy-duty polyester with tear-resistant stitching.

**How is it rated?**

4.3 out of 5 from 103 ratings. The breakdown shows 65 five-star and 16 four-star ratings, but also 11 three-star, 2 two-star and 6 one-star — and those five bars total 100, not the 103 in the rating count.

**Will it slide about on a hard floor or car seat?**

The listing says the bottom layer is a non-slip mesh to stop it sliding, and lists home floors, pet beds, car seats and travel crates as recommended uses.
