The Amazon Basics 36-inch crate costs £39.99 and is rated 4.6 stars from 12,160 ratings — the same pool as the 18-inch at number one, shared across the sizes of one product.

It takes ninth because its bar gap is 15 millimetres, more than twice the 7 millimetres of the crate at number three, on a listing that never explains why that matters for a puppy.

## Questions people ask

**Why the same ratings as the 18-inch?**

Because Amazon pools the reviews of the sizes in one parent product, so both crates show 12,160.

**Is 15mm bar spacing a problem?**

For an adult dog no; for a puppy or a small breed it is double the spacing of the crate at number three and worth checking against your dog's head.

**What size dog fits?**

A 36-inch crate suits a Labrador or a boxer, but the interior is shorter than the 91cm given.

**Does it fold?**

Yes, with a tray and a top handle.

**Why is it ninth?**

Because the sample is pooled and the bar spacing is the widest here, though the crate itself is sound.

**How many ratings does it have?**

12160 at the time of collection, averaging 4.6 stars, with 75 per cent five-star and 3 per cent one-star.
