The Outward Hound Granby Splash takes first place in this guide on ratings rather than on price. Its Amazon listing carries 31,783 ratings at 4.5 out of 5, far ahead of the 1,901 belonging to the K9 Pursuits, the jacket Amazon itself ranks first in Dog Lifejackets. The same listing gives its own Best Sellers Rank as 8th in Dog Lifejackets and 14,329th in Pet Supplies, at £32.42 against £21.99 for the jacket sitting at number one in that category.

Two details matter more than the headline counts. The first is sizing: the listing says the Granby Splash is fitted by girth rather than back length, comes in XS to XL with adjustable straps, and gives a minimum dog weight of 25 kg for this Large, while listing the jacket itself at 333 g. The second is what those numbers on the listing actually are. The rating breakdown it shows sums to 100 — 71 five-star, 20 four-star, 6 three-star, 1 two-star and 2 one-star — and one of the reviews Amazon displays under the jacket describes escape-proof harnesses rather than swimming, so 31,783 counts everything attached to this listing rather than 31,783 swim tests. The spec table also carries a 'League Name: Outward Hound' entry, a field with no meaning for a life jacket. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing; we have not put this jacket on a dog or in water.

## Questions people ask

**How many sizes does the Outward Hound Granby Splash come in?**

The listing gives a range of XS to XL with adjustable straps, and says the fit is chosen by girth rather than back length. This page covers the Large.

**How does the price compare with the rest of the guide?**

The Outward Hound Granby Splash is £32.42. The K9 Pursuits jacket that Amazon ranks first in Dog Lifejackets is £21.99, so the Outward Hound costs £10.43 more while sitting 8th in that same category.

**What do the 31,783 ratings actually say?**

4.5 out of 5. The breakdown shown on the listing sums to 100: 71 five-star, 20 four-star, 6 three-star, 1 two-star and 2 one-star.

**How do I know which size my dog needs?**

The Outward Hound listing says sizing is based on girth, not back length, and gives a minimum weight recommendation of 25 kg for the Large, so measure around the chest rather than along the spine.

**Does the Granby Splash have a handle?**

Yes. The listing describes dual grab handles for restraining and lifting a dog out of the water, plus bright colours and reflective accents for visibility.

**What is the 'League Name' field in the specifications?**

The listing's spec table reads 'League Name: Outward Hound'. No league applies to a dog life jacket, so that entry is filler rather than a feature.
