The VIVOHOME 30L Smart Fish Tank with APP Control Aquarium Starter Kit is the number 9 entry in this guide, and on paper it is the most feature-loaded listing in the set: an app that runs the lighting, the pump speed and the feeder, real-time water temperature, dual quiet pumps, a modular filtration system, full-spectrum LED and 5mm PPG glass quoted at 92% light transmittance. It is also the most expensive thing here.

At £179.99 it costs £80 more than the three £99.99 tanks in this guide, and it holds 30 litres. The £99.99 listing with the largest capacity holds 54 litres, so the same money buys close to twice the water there; this one works out at roughly £6.00 per litre against about £1.85 a litre for the 54-litre tank. Two other numbers deserve a second look. The item weight is given as 8 kg, while 30 litres of water alone weighs around 30 kg, so 8 kg reads as the empty tank. And the ratings breakdown adds up to 100 ratings — 10, 15, 20 and 55 across two to five stars — against the 14 ratings the listing states. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this product, not from any testing we have carried out.
