Wellness CORE Sterilised Original is a 4kg bag of grain-free dry cat food aimed at sterilised, overweight and less active adult cats. It is listed at £31.49 and holds 4.7 out of 5 from 680 ratings, which puts it at number two on this list.

The number that matters here is not the shelf price. £31.49 for 4kg works out at £7.87 per kilo — 4.8 times the £1.64 per kilo of the cheapest bag in this guide, but 42% less per kilo than the 2kg bag at £27.18, which is £13.59 per kilo. Put the same £31.49 into the cheapest-per-kilo food here and you would be buying 19.2kg of it. Two fields on this same listing also disagree with each other about the contents: the title says Chicken & Turkey and the Special Ingredients field says Chicken, while the Flavour field says only Turkey. The Dog Breed Size field says Medium, on a cat food. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing as it stands, not from any test of our own.
