The fanxiang S101Q is a 1TB 2.5-inch SATA III solid state drive, listed at £99.49 and sitting sixth in this guide. Its Amazon listing claims a maximum read speed of up to 560MB/s and a maximum write speed of up to 510MB/s over SATA 6Gb/s — the same 560MB/s the Samsung 870 EVO asks £290.77 for. That is this guide's argument in a single product: on claimed read speed, the £191.28 between them buys nothing you can point at.

The listing is less tidy about its own numbers than the headline suggests. One product data field gives Media Speed as 510 megabits_per_second, while the bullet points claim up to 510MB/s writes; megabits and megabytes are different units, and the listing does not reconcile them. Another field lists Cache Memory Installed Size as 1 TB, which is the drive's capacity rather than a cache size. Buyer ratings average 4.3 from 5,166, with 73 of those ratings at five stars and 12 at one star. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing — none of it comes from testing we carried out.
