The Netac U505 is a 64GB USB 2.0 flash drive with a metal clip that swivels 360° around an ABS body, a keyring loop for lanyards and an LED light. It is the number 9 entry in this guide and costs £7.99, with 4.4 out of 5 from 7,720 Amazon ratings and a rank of 3 in the USB Flash Drives category.

The finding on its spec table is a missing number rather than a contradictory one. Write Speed is listed as 30 with no unit attached — not MB/s, not GB/s — and Read Speed does not appear anywhere in the listing, so there is nothing here to compare the write figure against. That is a different problem from the drives in this guide whose write figure simply repeats their read figure, but it leaves the same question open. The same table also files "USB 2.0" under Colour, which is an interface rather than a colour, and puts Television, Car Audio and Speaker under Compatible Phone Models. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing as it stands; we have not tested the drive ourselves.

## Questions people ask

**What write speed does the Netac U505 list?**

The listing gives a single figure of 30 for Write Speed and does not say whether that is MB/s, GB/s or anything else, so the number cannot be read as a transfer rate.

**Does the listing give a read speed for the Netac U505?**

No. Read Speed is not stated anywhere in the Amazon listing for this drive.

**Is the Netac U505 a USB 3.0 drive?**

No. The hardware interface is listed as USB 2.0, and the Colour field also reads "USB 2.0".

**What devices does Netac say it works with?**

The listing names PC, laptop, TV and audio equipment, and the compatibility text adds Windows 98 Second Edition, NT, ME, 2000, XP, 7, 8.1, 10 and above, plus Linux and Mac OS 10.3 and above.

**How much does the Netac U505 cost and how is it rated?**

It is listed at £7.99 with 4.4 out of 5 from 7,720 ratings.

No. Netac describes a metal clip that rotates 360° round the ABS plastic body, so there is no loose cap to lose.
