## Is the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder worth buying?

Yes, the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder is worth buying at £69.98 if you want 4K footage from a body that weighs 283 g, and you are happy to trade some photo value for two batteries and a card that arrive with it. It is the lightest camcorder on this page, 17 g under the FIREFOTO 4K 64MP.

The catch is owner feedback. It sits at 3.9 from 121 buyers, the lowest score of any camcorder in the top five on this page, while the FIREFOTO holds 4.5 from 89. If you want the safest 4K purchase, pay the extra pound or so and follow the higher score.

## What does the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder work out to per megapixel?

Sixty-nine pounds ninety-eight divided by 48 megapixels is £1.46 for each megapixel of photo resolution, which is £0.52 more per megapixel than the FIREFOTO 4K 64MP charges at £0.94. You get fewer photo pixels and pay more for each of them, so buy this one for the video and the weight rather than the stills.

The 4K capture itself is the real draw. That is four times the pixel count of 1080P, and it saves as AVI with PCM audio, which suits editing but builds large files fast. The 32GB card in the box fills quickly at 4K, so plan on a bigger card early.

## What comes in the box with the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder?

The box holds the camera, two lithium-ion batteries, a 32GB SD card and a USB cable, and the model number is HDV-8162PLUS. iShareDirect backs it with a one year warranty, which is longer than a statutory return window and worth keeping the paperwork for.

At 283 g it is light enough to hold for a long shoot, and the 3 inch screen flips through 270 degrees for self-recording. The card slot takes up to 512GB, so the 32GB supplied is a starting point rather than a ceiling. An external microphone and a larger card are the two things worth buying alongside it.

## What are the downsides of the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder?

The biggest one is owner sentiment: 3.9 from 121 buyers is the weakest score in the top five here, and 121 ratings is a fair sample to take seriously. Second, the 4K footage needs a steady hand, because nothing here corrects movement for you when you walk and film.

The lens sits at 4.77 mm, so every bit of magnification is digital zoom, which crops the frame and softens detail the further you push in. It is also a dry-weather camera, with no water resistance, so rain, pools and the sea are out. Editing options run to lock, crop, rotate and slideshow, which covers basics and stops there.

## How does the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder compare with other camcorders?

Against the FIREFOTO 4K 64MP at £59.99, this ISHARE costs £9.99 more, gives you 48MP photos instead of 64MP, and scores 3.9 from 121 buyers against 4.5 from 89. The FIREFOTO is the better photo buy, while the ISHARE wins on weight, 283 g against 300 g, and on having a second battery in the box.

Against the Delmodes 2.7K 56MP at £64.99, this ISHARE costs £4.99 more and shoots 4K where the Delmodes stops at 2.7K. The Delmodes answers back with two 1500 mAh batteries that each run past 140 minutes and 56MP photos at £1.16 per megapixel. Choose the ISHARE for resolution on a light body, and the Delmodes for a shoot that runs all day.

## Questions people ask

**Does the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder come with a memory card?**

Yes. A 32GB SD card is included and already installed, and the slot accepts cards up to 512GB if you want to record longer 4K sessions.

**Can the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder be used as a webcam?**

Yes. Connect it to a personal computer, laptop or desktop with the USB cable and it works as a camera for video calls and live streaming.

**Can I plug an external microphone into the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder?**

Yes, and you switch the recording mode manually once the microphone is connected. The camcorder has a built-in speaker and one speaker channel, so the external microphone is what improves speech in videos.

**How heavy is the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder?**

It weighs 283 g, the lightest camcorder on this page. That is 17 g less than the FIREFOTO 4K 64MP and 267 g less than the 8K PITIKI, so long handheld shoots are easier on the arms.

**What is the warranty on the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder?**

iShareDirect provides a one year warranty on the camera. Keep the order confirmation, because the batteries and the SD card are consumable parts and sit outside most cover.

**Is the ISHARE 4K 48MP Camcorder waterproof?**

No. It carries no water resistance rating, so keep it out of rain and away from pools and the sea. A rain sleeve is the cheap way to protect it outdoors.
