The Yamaha P-45B is a portable digital piano in black, listed at £285.00 and sitting at number two in this guide. The listing describes an 88-key full size keyboard using Yamaha's graded hammer standard, 10 voices, a weight of 11.5 kg and USB TO HOST connectivity. It ships with a pedal, an AC adaptor and an owner's manual — no stand and no bag are named in the delivered items.

The number worth stopping on here is 10. Ten voices. Elsewhere in this same guide, the two walnut STRICH models are sold as one family at two prices, and the cheaper of the two at £272.99 claims 900 preset timbres and 700 drum rhythms, while the £349.99 version claims 128 timbres and 200 rhythms. The Yamaha asks £12.01 more than the cheapest of those and advertises ten voices. What it does have is a much larger body of feedback behind it: 4.7 from 2,941 ratings, with 85 per cent of them five-star and 2 ratings at one star. Whether 10 well-reviewed voices beats 900 claimed ones is your call, not ours. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing and the ratings shown there — we have not tested this piano ourselves.
