## Is the XuanPad 40000L Mini Projector worth buying?

Yes, the XuanPad 40000L Mini Projector is worth buying at £129.99 if you want a sharp picture in a small, dark room and would rather not plug in a streaming stick. It is the model with a native 1920 x 1080 panel, Netflix and Prime Video already on board, and 2,169 owners rate it 4.4. Anyone watching with the lights on, or shopping under £60, should look further down this ranking.

The money buys three things the £40 projectors cannot match: 2,073,600 pixels on the panel, autofocus that settles in under a second, and 3D Dolby Audio from the built-in stereo speakers. If none of that matters to you, the YOTON Y4PRO at £39.99 plays the same films for £90 less.

## What does the native 1080p panel actually give you?

A native 1920 x 1080 panel works out at 2,073,600 pixels, which is 2.25 times the 921,600 pixels of the 1280 x 720 chip used by six projectors in this group. Every stream you feed it, from iPlayer to a 4K Fire TV Stick, lands on that full grid instead of being scaled down to fit. That is what keeps detail in a dark scene and the thin lines of a pitch from blurring together at 100 inches.

Brightness is the other half of the account, and here the numbers are harder to line up: 40,000 lumens, with no ANSI figure beside it. The £109.99 Wielio throws 550 ANSI lumens, a figure you can set against the 200 ANSI of the £39.99 YOTON Y4PRO, so put the XuanPad in a room with curtains rather than a conservatory.

## What comes in the box with the XuanPad 40000L Mini Projector?

You get the projector, a power cord, an HDMI cable, a remote and a user manual, so a laptop, a console or a TV stick can be plugged in the day it arrives. The remote runs on its own batteries, which are not in the box, and the HDMI and USB ports cover the rest. Bluetooth 5.2 and dual-band Wi-Fi 6 handle wireless speakers and mirroring from an iPhone, an Android phone or a laptop.

It measures 11.9 cm long, 17.1 cm wide and 11.6 cm tall, and at 0.8 kg it moves from a bedside table to a garden table one-handed. The 210° stand aims the picture at a wall, a ceiling or the inside of a tent, and it will also sit on a tripod or hang from a ceiling mount. A 50W draw means it wants a socket, not a power bank.

## Where the XuanPad 40000L Mini Projector falls short

The first gap is a brightness figure you can compare: it runs at 40,000 lumens with nothing to measure that against, while the £109.99 Wielio puts 550 ANSI lumens on the table. In a room where you cannot close the curtains, that leaves £129.99 riding on trust. HDR10 and a 4K input do not change it; this is a night-time projector.

Second, it is the widest body in this group at 17.1 cm, roughly 7.6 cm wider than the 9.5 cm AKIYO O2, so a narrow bedside shelf may not take it. Third, the 50W draw is the joint highest here, and it runs warmer with more fan noise than the 38W models once the room heats up. Fourth, the remote arrives without batteries, which is a small thing you find out on the first evening.

## How does the XuanPad 40000L Mini Projector compare with the Wielio and the YOTON Y4PRO?

The Wielio Smart Android 14 Projector costs £109.99, £20 less, and brings 550 ANSI lumens with a native 1920 x 1080 panel, so it wins for anyone who wants the most light on the wall and can live with 93 ratings instead of 2,169. The XuanPad answers with Netflix pre-installed, autofocus in under a second and a 2-year warranty, which matters more if the projector is a gift or a shared family machine.

The YOTON Y4PRO costs £39.99, £90 less, and pushes 200 ANSI lumens through a 1280 x 720 chip. For a child's bedroom or a spare telly, that soft picture in a dark room is plenty. Pay the £90 difference only if sharpness on a 100-inch screen is the whole point of the purchase.
