The Garmin vivoactive 5 is a £162.00 GPS smartwatch with an Amoled touchscreen, rated 4.4 stars from 11,836 ratings - the second-deepest sample in this ranking.

It takes fourth place on that evidence and real built-in GPS, with the most careful battery wording here: 11 days in smartwatch mode, with no GPS-hours figure beside it and a specification table written for another market.

## Questions people ask

**How long does the battery last?**

The listing says up to 11 days in smartwatch mode, which is more precise than most here, but it gives no figure for GPS use.

**Does it have built-in GPS?**

Yes, unlike the four phone-tethered watches in this ranking.

**Why is the map type North America?**

Because the listing is written for another market; on a UK watch sold on downloadable maps, that field is worth ignoring.

**What does the [other] in the metrics field mean?**

Nothing: it is an unanswered placeholder left in the specification table.

**Is it worth £162?**

It is the most expensive watch here; the case for it is the Garmin feature set, real GPS and the second-deepest sample in the ranking.

**How many ratings does it have?**

11836 at the time of collection, averaging 4.4 stars, with 76 per cent five-star and 7 per cent one-star.
