Rank #5 in Best Olympic Weight Plates 2026: 10 Sets Ranked, and Why the KG Label Misleads
Strongway Olympic Bumper Weight Plates, 70 kg Set, 2" / 50mm
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
Strongway's Olympic Bumper Weight Plates come fifth in this guide, and they are the clearest example of the problem the guide keeps returning to. The listing is a single page covering 5 kg, 10 kg and 20 kg bumper plates, each with a 50 mm (2-inch) solid steel inner ring and a 45 cm plate diameter. Its colour field names the set as "70KG SET (2 X 20KG + 2 X 10KG + 2 X 5KG)". Add those up and you get 70 kg spread across six plates — and the Number of Items field agrees, reading 6.
The Item Weight field on the same page says 20 kg. Those two figures do not describe the same box. The price of £191.95 is given once for a listing that names three plate sizes, so it does not tell you which configuration is being priced either; the advertised set in the colour field is the only guide to what is in the box, and the Item Weight number is the one that will not match it. Everything below comes from the Amazon listing itself, not from any testing or weighing of our own.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“My entire home gym setup uses these strongway olympic bumper weight plates (4x20kg, 2x15kg, 4x10kg, 4x5kg) and I couldn't be happier with them.I don't have the capability to confirm the weights are exactly as stated but they are definitely well balanced on the barbell and i've felt very consistent in my progressive overload as I add more weight to the bar each workout.the build quality is excellent and the finish is flawless. the rubber gets the odd ding on the outer edges from my rows and deadlifts but it's purely cosmetic and barely even noticeable. i'm confident they'll last me a very long time.there is a rubber smell on arrival but it's minimal and dissipates in a day or two with no intervention from myself.i'm probably at the limit on the weight i can use with my setup now but i'd not hesitate to buy from strongway again if i need more. highly recommended.”
