Is the Teamson Home Straight Fountain worth buying?
The Teamson Home Straight Fountain is worth buying at £88.99 if you have an outdoor socket within 2 m of where you want the water, and you would rather have one tall, audible cascade than a small lit bowl. It stands 98 cm, holds 9 litres and moves 450 L/h, and 919 owners rate it 4.2. If the nearest socket is further away than that, the solar Teamson Home 4 Tier Pot at £119.99 does a similar job with no cable at all.
The case rests on the water rather than the ornament. A 450 L/h pump at 7W is the strongest flow on this page, and the slate-effect body is 34 cm wide and 22 cm deep, so it asks for a strip of ground barely wider than a watering can. It also goes together in under 10 minutes with the instructions in the box.
What does 450 L/h at 7W actually mean?
It means the water arrives with some force instead of a dribble. That is 7.5 litres a minute, recirculated from a 9 litre reservoir, so the pump turns the full contents of the bowl over in about 72 seconds. The cascade carries a few metres, and the top bowl stays wet the whole time the pump is running.
Seven watts keeps the running cost close to nothing: eight hours a day comes to roughly 1.7 kWh a month. The same movement is what you pay for in maintenance, because splash and evaporation empty a 9 litre bowl faster than a still one. Spread over its 98 cm, the £88.99 works out at 91p per centimetre of fountain.
What comes in the box, and what is it like to live with?
The box carries the fountain, the YH-LV110T submersible pump, the plug adapter, 200 cm of cable, a bag of pebble stones and the removable LED lights. It runs on 230 to 240V. The body is polyresin with a slate-effect finish, weather, UV and frost protected, so the grey should hold its colour through a British year.
The weekly job is water. It recirculates from its own 9 litre reservoir, so no plumbing and no permanent supply are needed, but you will be topping it up by hand in summer. The LED lights lift out, which helps, because the pump intake and the pebbles are where leaves and algae collect. At 5.4 kg and 98 cm, one person can move it once the reservoir is empty.
Where does the Teamson Home Straight Fountain fall short?
The 200 cm cable is the shortest reach on this page, so the socket cannot live in a shed at the far end of the lawn. There is no battery backup, which means a power cut stops the water until the mains returns, and the pump should not run dry. If you cannot put a socket within 2 m, this model fights the site rather than fitting it.
Cover lasts 30 days, which is thin for something that sits outside all year. It also wants a firm, level base: a 98 cm column weighing 5.4 kg with water moving inside it will lean on soft soil or loose gravel, so a slab or a paved corner is the honest setting. Moving it means draining 9 litres first, so pick the spot with that in mind.
How does it compare with the Teamson Home 4 Tier Pot and the Oypla barrel?
The Teamson Home 4 Tier Pot costs £119.99 and runs off a 3.2W solar panel with a 2,000 mAh battery. It is £31 dearer and stands 72.4 cm, which is 25.6 cm less fountain. Choose the 4 Tier Pot when there is no socket and the sun is the only power on site; choose the straight fountain when a plug is within reach, because the height costs less there.
The Oypla 2 Tier Barrel costs £34.99, stands 67 cm and works out at 52p per centimetre against 91p for the straight model. It weighs 2.89 kg and 154 owners rate it 4.4. That barrel is the right buy for a first feature or a rented garden, while the extra 31 cm of Teamson height is what makes the water visible from a kitchen window across a lawn.

Questions people ask
How much water does the Teamson Home Straight Fountain hold?
It holds 9 litres in its own reservoir, which the pump recirculates, so no plumbing or permanent supply is needed. Expect to top it up every week or two through summer, since splash and evaporation take their share.
What comes in the box with the Teamson Home Straight Fountain?
The fountain, the YH-LV110T submersible pump, the plug adapter, 200 cm of cable, a bag of pebble stones, the removable LED lights and step-by-step instructions. Assembly takes under 10 minutes.
How long is the cable on the Teamson Home Straight Fountain?
200 cm, which is 3 m less than the 5 m cables on the GEEZY features in the same range. Measure the run from your socket before ordering, because an extension lead left out in the rain is not a good answer.
Does the Teamson Home Straight Fountain need plumbing?
No. It is fully self-contained and recirculates its own water, so you fill it by hand and plug it into a 230 to 240V socket. There is no permanent water supply and no drain to run.
Can the Teamson Home Straight Fountain run without water?
No, the pump should never operate dry. Keep the reservoir above the intake, and switch it off if the water level drops, or the pump will be damaged. This is the one routine check that keeps it running for years.
What warranty comes with the Teamson Home Straight Fountain?
Cover runs for 30 days. That is shorter than most buyers would expect for an outdoor water feature, so keep the order details and check the pump and lights while the cover is still open.
