Lawn care professionals don't use a collection basket, but rake up the expelled thatch. I did the same, then set the depth to zero and attached the collection basket. This collected any thatch that I missed during raking.I found the machine easy to assemble and use, but it is "back heavy", meaning you have to be a bit careful on bumpy ground otherwise the machine will jump forward.As usual, be careful with the trailing cable.”
