Rank #4 in Best Petrol Chainsaw 2026: 10 Ranked, and Why the Horsepower Claims Don't Match
FUXTEC FX-KS255 54cc Petrol Chainsaw, 46cm Bar
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The FUXTEC FX-KS255 is a 54cc two-stroke petrol chainsaw with a 46 cm (18 inch) bar and chain, listed at £119.00 and sitting at number four in this guide. It carries 4.3 out of 5 from 465 ratings, and the listing places it at 487 in Amazon's Chain Saws category. FUXTEC sells it with an Easy Start system and automatic choke, tool-free fuel and oil caps, a blade guard and a carrying bag.
The interesting thing about this one is the opposite of the problem running through the rest of the list: its power numbers agree with each other. The bullets claim 2.3 kW, the spec field claims 3 Horsepower, and 2.3 kW converts to roughly 3.1 hp — close enough that the badge and the engine size tell the same story, which is not what the 26cc and 62cc saws in this guide do. Where the FX-KS255 does contradict itself is weight: the bullets describe a "lightweight 5.2kg design" for comfortable handling, while the item weight field reads 8.5 kg. The star breakdown shown adds up to 100 across its five bars against a rating count of 465, so read that breakdown as a proportion rather than a headcount. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing, not from a saw we have run ourselves.
How those 465 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.3 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Cracking chainsaw. Customer Service were great, got back in touch really quick. A beast of a thing for a great price”
Verified purchase“The saw arrived in lovely secure packaging, and with an easy to follow handbook. It is complete with a small tool kit, and a fuel mixing bottle which makes refuelling a simple task. The saw does seem a little heavy to use initially, but the balance is good so operating it is easy. Starting up the saw is a doddle and requires very little effort. I am delighted with my saw and will run out of wood before I get tired of using it. I have only owned this saw for a week or so, and may update this review at a later date after prolonged usage.”

Questions people ask
Is the FUXTEC FX-KS255 a 54cc chainsaw?
Yes. The listing gives it a 54cc 2-stroke engine with a stated 2.3 kW output, under model number FX-KS255.
What bar length does the FUXTEC FX-KS255 use?
The bullets describe a 46 cm (18 inch) bar for cutting logs and branches, and the chain length spec field also reads 18 inches.
How heavy is the FUXTEC FX-KS255?
The bullets say the design weighs 5.2 kg, while the item weight spec field says 8.5 kg. The listing does not explain what the difference between those two figures covers.
Does the 3 horsepower figure match the 2.3 kW output?
Roughly. 2.3 kW converts to about 3.1 hp, so the 3 Horsepower in the spec field and the 2.3 kW in the bullets are close to the same claim rather than two different ones.
What comes in the box with the FUXTEC FX-KS255?
The included components field names the FUXTEC Kettensäge FX-KS255 - Black Edition, and the bullets list a blade guard and a carrying bag for transport and storage.
How do the 465 ratings break down?
The listing shows 4.3 out of 5 from 465 ratings, but the five star bars it displays add up to 100, so treat that breakdown as a share of ratings rather than a count of them.
