Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass

Is the Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass worth buying?

Yes, the Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass earns its £18.95 if you are covering a balcony corner, a small patio or a pet area up to 1.5 m² and you want the surface to feel thick underfoot. Thirty-five millimetres of dense pile at 1,915 g/m² is a deeper, heavier surface than most rolls at this price, and 1,648 owners rate it 4.2.

It is not the buy for an open lawn. The roll is 1.5 m² in total, so covering anything wider means joining two pieces and leaving a seam across the middle, and at £12.63 per square metre you are paying for density rather than for area.

How dense is the Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass?

Every square metre holds 1,915 g of yarn and backing, which is the weight that keeps 35mm fibres standing after a chair leg or a dog has pressed them down. The yarn is 6,500 dtex, stitched at 14,700 stitches per m² with 32 strands in each tuft, and four green tones are packed closely enough that the backing stays hidden.

Divide the £18.95 by the 1.5 m² the roll covers and the cost lands at £12.63 per square metre. That is a lot per square metre for a 35mm pile, and the material is where the money went: the figure tops a 30mm roll built for daily family traffic, which puts this in patch territory rather than lawn territory.

What do you get with the Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass?

One length of turf measuring 1 m by 1.5 m, rolled and weighing 2.1 kg, which is 1.5 m² of finished surface. It lays straight onto a prepared base with nothing added on top, and the water-permeable backing lets rain run through instead of pooling, so no sand infill is needed.

The fibres are UV resistant, and the surface takes full sun, partial sun and shade, so a corner that only catches afternoon light still keeps its colour. Keeping it tidy is a brush rather than a wash: work an artificial grass brush against the direction the fibres lie to lift them and pull out leaves.

Where does the Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass fall short?

The roll stops at 1.5 m², which is a landing, a doorway or one balcony corner and not much more. A 3 m by 3 m patio would take six of these at £113.70 in total, and six seams with it.

Dense 35mm pile traps debris, so it wants brushing to stay upright, especially where a dog turns on it. On cost it is the priciest turf of the ten, £12.63 per square metre against £6.50 for the deepest-value 30mm roll, so buying on price alone leads you to the wrong product.

Ark Mat 35mm Artificial Grass vs the Antalya and the Bodrum?

The Tuda Grass Direct Antalya covers 6 m² of 30mm pile for £39, four times the ground for £20.05 more, which works out at £6.50 per square metre against this roll's £12.63. Buy the Antalya for grass you walk across; buy the Ark Mat where the area is small and the surface has to feel thick.

The Tuda Grass Direct Bodrum goes the other way: £9.99 buys 1 m² of 40mm pile, so 5mm more depth and £8.96 less for two-thirds of the area. The Bodrum suits a single worn patch or a bench area, while the extra half square metre and the 1,915 g/m² build here suit a spot that gets used every day.
