The Dong Cheng 40V Brushless 16 inch (41cm) Chainsaw is the number 9 pick in our cordless chainsaw guide. It is a battery-powered saw with a 16-inch bar, a quoted 14 m/s chain speed and a brushless motor, sold as a kit with two 4.0Ah batteries and a charger for £149.99.
The finding on this listing is the voltage. Dong Cheng calls it a 40V saw, and then its own copy describes it as running on "dual 20V (40V total) batteries" — so the 40V is the two packs added together, not a single 40V battery. The rating is the other number worth reading twice: 4.0 out of 5 from 64 ratings, which looks solid until you see the split behind it — 58 five-star ratings, but also 10 two-star and 9 one-star ones, so 19 of the 64 sit at 1 or 2 stars. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing rather than from any testing we carried out.
