Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.

The SEYVUM LJ-002 is a 12-inch cordless chainsaw sold as a kit: the saw, two 20V 4.0Ah batteries, two 12-inch chains, a dual charger, gloves and goggles, all for £79.99. It sits eighth in our cordless chainsaw guide and carries 4.5 out of 5 from 1,325 ratings, with the listing placing it 29th in Amazon's Chain Saws category.

The number worth slowing down on is 1,200W. That is the motor figure in the second bullet, and the same listing's Included Components field describes the tool as "1 x 20V Chainsaw" running on 20V packs — 1,200W drawn at 20V works out at 60A, which is a lot to ask of a 4.0Ah pack in this class. The listing never says whether the two batteries run together or one at a time. There is a second mismatch in the same advert: the Item Highlight field promises "Auto Oiling", while the oiling bullet describes an "easy-press manual oiling system" and the first bullet tells you to add lubricating oil yourself before every use. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing as we found it, not from a saw we ran ourselves.

“I love my saw. I have used this so many times. It will warn you when it is getting too hot. I have 2 batteries but usually only need one for the jobs I do.”

Questions people ask

How many batteries come with the SEYVUM LJ-002?

Two. The Included Components field lists 2 x 20V 4.0Ah batteries, along with a 1.8A dual charger, two 12-inch chains, gloves, protective glasses and a manual.

How long does one battery last?

The listing states 30-45 minutes of cutting wood and trimming branches per charge, and advises charging fully before use. It does not break that figure down by battery or by wood type.

Is the chain oiler automatic?

The listing says both. The Item Highlight field reads "Auto Oiling", but the bullet on oiling describes an "easy-press manual oiling system", and the first bullet instructs you to add lubricating oil and let the SEYVUM LJ-002 run idle for about 10 seconds until oil flow is normal.

What can the SEYVUM LJ-002 cut?

The listing claims a 12-inch diameter log in 8 seconds, with a chain speed of 29 ft/s and a 1,200W brushless motor. Those are the seller's figures, not measurements of ours.

Does the 1,200W motor run on both batteries at once?

The listing does not say. It gives a 1,200W motor figure while the Included Components field calls the tool "1 x 20V Chainsaw" and supplies two 20V 4.0Ah packs, without explaining whether they are used together or one at a time.

How heavy is it?

1.7 kg (3.9 lbs), which the listing presents as light enough for one-handed operation. It also lists a safety lock against accidental starts, a flip guard and a pair of protective goggles in the box.
