Rank #5 in Best Portable Generators 2026: 10 Ranked, Start vs Running Watts
maXpeedingrods 3500W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The maXpeedingrods 3500W Dual Fuel Inverter Generator sits at number five in our guide to portable generators. It is the dual-fuel option in the list: the listing says the same machine runs on petrol or LPG, and that the fuel you choose changes the output. On petrol it quotes 3500W starting and 3100W running. On LPG it quotes 3200W starting and 2800W running.
That second set of numbers is where the advert gets awkward. The specification table gives one figure for each job — Starting Wattage 3500 Watts, Running Wattage 3100 Watts — and does not mention LPG at all, so the 2800W running figure lives only in the sales copy. The same table lists "Engine Power Maximum: 3.5 Kilowatts", which is 3500W, the starting number rather than the continuous one. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing for this generator, not from any testing we have carried out.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“Perfect for working on site easy to set up and start good value for money”
Verified purchase“A lovely item of kit - fairly lightweight for its power output. Very compact and easy to use with versatile outputs. Surprisingly quiet when running. Don't attempt to use it indoors because of the health danger from exhaust fumes. Well pleased with the generator and would highly recommend for multiple outdoor uses as well as a good backup for occasional power outages.”

Questions people ask
Does the maXpeedingrods 3500W run on both petrol and LPG?
Yes. The listing describes a dual fuel design that runs on both gasoline and LPG, and gives a different output figure for each.
What is the running wattage on LPG?
The bullets state 3200W starting and 2800W running on LPG, against 3500W starting and 3100W running on petrol.
Why does the specification table only show 3500W?
Because the table repeats the petrol starting figure in the Wattage, Output Wattage and Engine Power Maximum fields. It does not split petrol and LPG the way the bullet points do, so the LPG numbers do not appear there.
How long will the maXpeedingrods 3500W run for?
The specification table lists an 8 hour runtime with no load condition attached. One bullet mentions running time at 50% load, but that sentence is cut off in the listing text we have.
Can it charge phones and laptops?
The listing says the inverter technology generates clean power for sensitive devices and that it can directly charge phones, laptops and cameras.
What warranty does maXpeedingrods offer?
The listing states a 2 year warranty against defects in workmanship from the date of retail purchase by the original purchaser, plus free lifetime technical support.
