First, there is plain ultrasound which only the dog hears. Second, I can store a short message, up to twenty seconds long, so a pre-recorded "Oi, bed!" comes out when required. Last, there is a siren loud enough for the children to complain about it from the living room.Charging is civilized. A standard USB lead gives it five hours on the plug and that buy s close to a month of standby. The housing is rated IP45, so a normal British drizzle does nothing worse than bead on the plastic.Annoyances? Indoors, the range falls off the moment a wall or two gets in the way. The remote feels as if it came from a discount toy shop and refuses to work if rain touches it, and the box insists on flipping back to ultrasound six seconds after every correction which is awkward when you are trying to string several commands together.Quibbles aside, the gadget manages to rein in a very eager set of lungs without any pain or drama, the battery lasts ages and the reach of the handset means I can deal with barking from almost anywhere in the house. For the money, that strikes me as decent value.”
