Rank #3 in Best Automatic Dog Ball Launcher 2026: 10 Ranked, and the Range Claims That Don't Add Up
Orifesio Automatic Dog Ball Launcher, 6 ETPU Balls
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Orifesio G078 is an automatic dog ball launcher with a built-in rechargeable battery, sold with six 58 mm (2.3 in) ETPU balls. It sits third in our guide to automatic ball launchers at £51.99, and the number that matters here is 14 m (46 ft): the longest launch distance claimed anywhere in the guide, and the same figure the two cheapest launchers on the list claim at £34.99 each. So this one asks £17 more than the cheapest models for a top distance that is identical on paper. Nothing in the listing explains why the Orifesio's 14 m should be any different from theirs.
What the extra money does buy, according to the advert, is a rechargeable battery rather than disposables — the guide flags a competitor whose top distance only applies with a mains adaptor attached — plus three fixed settings of 6 m, 10 m and 14 m, and six balls in the box rather than one. Orifesio lists it for small dogs and for puppies over six months, so at 1.8 kg with 58 mm balls it is not aimed at larger breeds.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“These replacement balls work perfectly with our ball launcher and are just what we needed. They fit well, are lightweight but seem reasonably durable, and my dog loves playing with them. Having a pack of spares is really convenient, especially when a few inevitably disappear in the garden. Good quality and good value for money.”
Verified purchase“The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my dogs birthday and she loves it! I love that it doesn't need to be plugged in to work so we can use it inside and outside. I thought it was overpriced but seeing the fun she's having with it makes it worth it!”

Questions people ask
How far does the Orifesio G078 throw a ball?
The listing gives three settings: 6 m (20 ft), 10 m (33 ft) and 14 m (46 ft). It does not say which ball or which battery level those distances are measured at.
Does it need batteries?
No. The Orifesio G078 has a built-in rechargeable battery and comes with a USB charging cable, so the six C batteries some rivals use are not needed. The listing gives no run time per charge.
What balls does it take?
Six 58 mm (2.3 in) ETPU balls are included in the box. That is the larger of the two ball sizes seen in this guide, and the Orifesio listing gives no indication that other sizes or brands will work in it.
Is it suitable for big dogs?
No. Orifesio lists the G078 for small dogs, and the age range is adult dogs and puppies over six months. The machine itself weighs 1.8 kg.
Can it be used outdoors?
The listing gives indoor and outdoor usage, but also states it is not water resistant, so it can go outside without being left out in the rain.
The page says 73 ratings but the star breakdown adds up to 100 — which is right?
The headline figure is 4.4 out of 5 from 73 ratings. The breakdown of marks supplied with the same listing totals 100: 80 five-star, 4 four-star, 2 three-star, 5 two-star and 9 one-star. We cannot reconcile the two numbers, so treat both with caution.
