Rank #3 in Best Cat Litter Trays 2026: 10 Ranked, and Why the Dimensions Disagree
Fobyfurny XXL Stainless Steel Cat Litter Tray with Flip Lid
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
Third in our guide to cat litter trays, the Fobyfurny XXL is the biggest box on the list by the seller's own numbers: 60 cm long, 40 cm wide and 38.5 cm high, in dark grey, at £29.99, with 4.5 stars from 388 ratings. It is a covered tray made of stainless steel with a flip lid that hinges open so you can scoop without moving the whole box, and the advert says the steel helps control odours and that the surface wipes clean easily. A scoop, a foot pedal, eight anti-slip stickers and an instruction manual are included.
The reason it sits at #3 rather than higher is the same one that runs through this guide: the listing measures the same box in more than one way. The outer size appears twice, in the bullet points and in the specification table, and both times it reads 60L x 40W x 38.5H cm — that pair is consistent. Inside, the advert gives a 15 cm deep basin and 23.5 cm high sides, two figures for the same part of the tray that do not agree with each other, and the listing never explains how either relates to the 38.5 cm total. Everything on this page comes from the Amazon listing for this model; we have not handled or tested the tray.
How those 388 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.5 stars.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“This product is very quality than I expected. I hope my cats will love it when they come. Steel base and strong plastic materials. Highly recommended. Not so heavy, easy to carry.”
Verified purchase“Assembling the Fobyfurny Cat Litter Tray was easy when I used the instructions :-). Excellent quality and extremely well made this litter tray is a large size as per the advert and therefore contains/needs a lot of cat litter to make a decent level. The amount of litter means that the tray is heavy for an OAP but because the lid hinges up for access you don't need to move it to get it clean inside. The stainless steel tray is very well finished so the cat litter doesn't stick as it can in a plastic tray after a few scratches appear on the surface so it is easy to clean.”

Questions people ask
How big is the Fobyfurny XXL litter tray?
The advert lists it at 60L x 40W x 38.5H cm and says it suits cats weighing up to 10 kg. The same listing describes the basin as 15 cm deep with 23.5 cm high sides, which does not line up with those outer figures.
Is the whole tray stainless steel?
The advert describes the tray itself as stainless steel and says stainless steel helps control odours. It does not say what the flip lid is made of.
Does the Fobyfurny tray come with a warranty?
No. The specification table for model EFPLB001SG2V1 lists Product Warranty as "NO".
What is in the box?
The included components list gives the cat litter tray, a litter scoop, a foot pedal, eight anti-slip stickers and an instruction manual.
Can it be used without the lid?
The advert calls the Fobyfurny model a 3-in-1 litter box: enclosed for privacy, semi-enclosed for cats adapting to a new box, and open for better air circulation. The specification table, however, classifies it as a covered litter box with a lid.
What sort of cat is it for?
The advert says the XXL size suits cats weighing up to 10 kg, and that a 7.4 cm step helps elderly cats and kittens get in and out. Note that the same sentence calls that part "foot pads" while the accessory list calls it a foot pedal.
