Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
Burns Grain Free Duck & Potato is a 2 kg bag of dry dog food for adult and senior dogs, ranked seventh in this guide. At £13.69 it works out at £6.85 a kilo — 3.4 times the £1.99 a kilo of the 15 kg Alpha sack, and just under the £8.67 a kilo the 1.5 kg James Wellbeloved bag asks. Its 4.4 rating from 114 ratings sits at the bottom of the 4.3–4.8 band this group occupies, so price per kilo and score do not move together here.
Two fields in the Burns listing also disagree with each other. The Best Sellers Rank reads "12 in Freeze-Dried Dog Food", while the item form is given as granule and the product is a dry food — freeze-dried and dry are not the same thing. The rating breakdown does not add up either: 79 five-star, 7 four-star, 4 three-star and 10 one-star come to 100 ratings, but the listing states 114. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing, not from any test of ours.
How those 114 ratings break down
An average hides its own shape. This is the spread behind the 4.4 stars.
