The Repti-Life 6ft vivarium sits at number one in this guide: a flatpacked 72 x 24 x 24 inch wooden cabinet in black, listed at £279.99 and rated 4.5 out of 5 from 100 customer reviews. The listing describes 18mm MFC board, 4mm toughened safety glass, a solid back with a slight inset front, six large airflow vents and stackable construction, manufactured in the United Kingdom.

The finding on this one is smaller than the gaps elsewhere in the guide, but it is still there. The spec table gives item dimensions of 182.9L x 61W x 61H centimetres — that is 72 x 24 x 24 inches, which multiplied out comes to roughly 41,500 cubic inches. The Tank Volume field on the same listing reads 37,696 cubic inches, about 9% below what its own measurements produce. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing as it stands; we have not measured or tested the vivarium ourselves.

What buyers actually say

“Tortoise needed a new home, currently in a 4ft but really too small so thought I'd upgrade and go large .... this viv is vast! My 6'3 son can almost fit inside it 😆 its very solid, comes with all needed to put it together including vent grills and notches for wires for heating and lighting. Its seriously enormous! My tortie will be lost in there but its perfect. Excellent communication from the seller, answered loads of questions when I first made enquiries and has kept me updated with tracking details etc since ordering. It didnt take 2 people long to put it together. We purchased separately heat and light fittings and sealant but that's all we had to get. Can't wait to get tortie into it tomorrow!”

“Was nervous ordering this because of the size & price but it arrived in great condition, came exactly as described, with all the nails etc needed, building it was pretty 'easy' (I have health problems & was able to assemble it mostly on my own just with assistance lifting the bigger sides), just needed to get some aquarium sealant to make sure the sides were leakproof, keeps the humidity in perfectly for my tortoise & has plenty of room for her to grow & run around more :)”
