The MERACH Foldable Weight Bench is a home gym bench that takes up position 10 in this guide. It costs £69.99, carries a rating of 4.2 out of 5 from 380 ratings, and the listing describes an alloy steel frame, a fold to 33 x 19.8 x 72 cm, and 72 workout angles across 6 backrest positions, 4 seat adjustments and 3 footrest configurations. It is the cheapest bench in this guide and the one whose headline numbers come closest to agreeing with each other.

The title says MAX 450KG. Converted, 450 kg is about 992 lb. The first bullet and the spec table both say 990 lb. That is a 2 lb gap — rounding, not a contradiction, and it is the tightest pair of capacity figures on any listing we looked at. The angle count is where it slips: the title advertises "72/108 Training Angles", while the bullet only accounts for 72, from 6 x 4 x 3. We rank on the 990 lb figure, the lower of the two. Everything on this page is taken from the Amazon listing and its customer reviews, not from testing of our own.

What buyers actually say

Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon

“Really glad that I bought this bench. It feels sturdy and good quality for a home bench. It was pretty straight forward to assemble. I am 5"5 and for me it is the perfect height. I think if you were taller then your head might hang off the head rest. In terms of storage, it doesn't exactly fold small! I live in a small flat and originally thought I would be able to store it behind the couch, but I think I will have to make it a feature! But I am very happy with it and I know that I am going to get loads of use out of it.”

“This bench is fantastic. I was expecting to have to put it together myself, but it was already done. The only thing I had to do was attach the foot bar and put on the foam. It is really sturdy, very easy to use and the back and the seat are very comfortable. It is definitely worth the money and I think it will last a very long time.”
