Rank #7 in Best EZ Curl Bar 2026: 10 Ranked, and Why the Ratings Conflict
Bells of Steel Olympic EZ Curl Bar, 2 Inch, Black
Price and rating as shown on Amazon when we collected them. Both change.
The Bells of Steel EZ Curl Bar is an Olympic curl bar listed at £59.99: 45 inches long, 28 mm shaft, 2-inch mounting holes and 10.2 kg on its own. It comes in at number 7 in our guide to EZ curl bars, and the reason it sits there rather than higher is the same reason it is worth reading about carefully.
The title on the listing says 500 lb. The specification table on that same listing says Weight Capacity Maximum: 300 Pounds. That is a 200 lb gap between two lines of the same page, and it is the largest such gap in this guide. There is a smaller one further down: the bullet gives a 45-inch length, while the dimensions field reads 120L x 5W centimetres — 45 inches is about 114 cm, and 120 cm is about 47 inches. As with every entry here, if you are comparing bars, compare the lowest capacity figure the page states against what you actually lift. Everything below is taken from the Amazon listing for this bar; we have not handled it or tested it ourselves.

What buyers actually say
Quoted from customer reviews on Amazon
Verified purchase“I own many curl bars, perhaps too many? I decided to order this one anyway since I have always wanted this particular one and I got a great deal on it. For the record I own 12 curl bars now including this one plus a rackable one. They are all slightly different (diameter, bends, knurling, weight, coating, length and tensile strength). This bar is the ideal weight for an ez curl bar (not too heavy, not too light). The end caps looks amazing. The collars are ribbed so you don't have to worry so much about weight plates sliding if you are not using collars. Personally, I always use collars and find the ribbed sleeves slightly annoying when sliding plated on and off the bar. Others may prefer having the ribbed sleeves. My bar was a returned to Amazon bar which is part of why I got a really good deal on it. The bar looks like new but the end caps do rattle slightly. Perhaps this is why they returned it? The end caps do not look damaged and I have run into this issue on another ez curl bar I bought from another company and it was brand new and I have tuned out the noise and bar works just fine. I should be able to remove the end caps to take a closer look but I probably wont. This bar has a 28mm diameter which is common for most ez curl bars. The knurling is identified as medium on their website. Other reviews I have watched in the past state it is volcano knurling and described as grippy without tearing up your hands. I was hoping for the volcano knurling, but even the medium knurling would have been nice. Instead I would call this passive knurling since it is smooth yet lightly and evenly textured. Volcano knurling in my opinion would have slightly more bite to it then medium knurling. Medium knurling in my opinion would have been more textured than what I got.The weight capacity on this bar is much higher than others that look similar because this bar has a much higher tensile strength (110k instead of 60 to 87k). So rest assured it can handle whatever you decide to lift with this bar since it is rated up to 500lbs and lesser bars are rated between 200 and 350lbs. This bar was the top rated ez curl bar by Garage Gym Reviews several years ago in a comparison video. Having owned many BOS products over the years I know that whatever they make is built to last and I am sure this bar will too.”

Questions people ask
How much weight can the Bells of Steel EZ Curl Bar take?
The specification table lists a maximum of 300 Pounds. The title on the same listing says 500 lb, so the two figures do not agree and the lower one is the one to work from.
Is this an Olympic bar?
Yes. The mounting hole diameter is listed as 2 Inches, the Olympic size, and the title calls it an Olympic EZ curl bar.
What is the shaft diameter?
Both the grip size field and the product bullet give 28 mm, so the two agree here.
How long is the bar?
The bullet states a 45-inch length. The dimensions field lists 120L x 5W centimetres, and 45 inches is roughly 114 cm, so the two numbers on the page are not the same.
How much does the bar itself weigh?
Item Weight is listed as 10.2 kg, which one reviewer describes as the ideal weight for an EZ curl bar.
What finish does it have?
The bullet describes a black phosphate shaft finish with nickel-plated sleeves. The specification's finish field just says Nickel.
What is in the package?
The bullet says the package contains the Bells of Steel Olympic EZ Curl bar. Number of Items is 1 and Unit Count is 1.0 count, so no collars or other accessories are listed.
